Fitzgerald paints Nick as a very composed, thoughtful man that doesn’t make any hasty decisions or statements. He is a very controlled man that doesn’t like to judge people from what he first see’s. Although in the text there is emotive language (snobbishly) which makes me think that he may try to not make silly decisions and be judgemental but he may not give everyone a chance and just brush some people off. Fitzgerald has written that he was thought to be a politician which reinforces the fact that he is a reserved and mature man, but some politicians can have very strong beliefs…
